Monroe Montessori School is rated 5.0 out of 5 stars, based on 51 reviews!
Monroe Montessori is providing a nurturing and motivating learning environment for our son. His class is small, his teacher devoted and caring, taking the time to learn about him as an individual and helping guide him to reach his personal best goals. The staff and owners are fabulous, too, and we feel as parents that we have support.
I cannot say enough good things about Monroe Montessori School. When we first toured, the school director went out of her way to make a connection with my daughter, who is normally rather reserved. By the end of our short first visit, they were playing on the slide together and my daughter was begging to go back. This positive experience was the first of many at MMS, where we truly feel that our daughter and we as parents have all found a family. Every person at MMS I've interacted with from teachers to assistants to the school directors to fellow parents have been nothing but warm, kind, flexible and truly passionate about creating a safe and meaningful learning environment for students. As a former elementary educator myself, I was worried that I might not find a preschool program for my daughter that met my very high bar academically, but most importantly from a social-emotional perspective. Not only did MMS hit that bar, they far exceeded it. Everything about Mrs. Thompson's classroom is the perfect blend of structure and creativity; safety and flexibility. Our daughter has absolutely blossomed in her language, friendships and academic interests over the past year, and we couldn't be more thankful. Similarly, as a parent, I have been so appreciative of the opportunity to be involved in my daughter's education through multiple volunteering opportunities and social opportunities to network with families. Top to bottom, Monroe Montessori School is as high-quality a learning environment as they come. Thank you for the best year!
My eldest daughter attended here from preschool though grade 1. My wife and I have nothing but glowing reviews for all the teachers and staff. The dedication of the staff and their very visible love of teaching make it the best school in the county. 10/10
This is the second year our son has attended Monroe Montessori. We've also attended the summer camps. The staff is top notch. I know my son is loved and respected while receiving the best education possible.

Three years ago we found ourselves at a parenting milestone: our child was ready for school. Montessori was a name we had heard many good things about but were unaware of what Montessori could do for our family. We enrolled our child because we liked the philosophy, the classroom materials, and the exceptional staff. We were heartened that we had made the right decision for our child when we saw how excited he was to go to school each day. What we later discovered, however, exceeded our expectations. Our son was developing a new and exciting way to view his world. He took great pride in his accomplishments and began to share this discoveries with us. What was especially exciting to see was the small steps he was taking were leading to greater things. Monroe Montessori has taught our family that the steps we take to reach a goal can be as great as its fulfillment. Watching our child go from sound recognition to an emergent reader was an accomplishment that the entire family enjoyed. We were excited to continue the strides our son had made in preschool and so we decided to continue with Monroe Montessori for the kindergarten year. Although the experience in the pre-k/k class is greatly different, it is equally valuable. Our son has become very interested in the activities of his classmates yet has also developed an independence in his own personal growth and education. Our child is not only acquiring new skills and knowledge, he is learning to apply and generalize his lessons in ways that enrich his life. Montessori fives him the tools to reach as far as he can go while walking him through a tough yet exciting time in his own social development. What a great experience we have had.
My child just started attending this year for Kindergarten and she loves being there already in the short time that school has started. They have PE which will be starting next week I believe, Art starts the following week and Music starts after that week. I do hope they study Spanish once a week which was not stated on the calendar of when that starts, but I was told they do a 15 minute study period where a separate teacher comes in once a week. So, they have every thing there. Plus my child loves their big playground. And we love the big classroom and love the Montessori way of teaching.
This is by far the best daycare, preschool and early education facility on the East Side. We have been with the school for over 4 years now and have loved every moment. The prices are more than reasonable, the facilities are fantastic, and the education and standard of care are top notch. If you want to spoil your babies, bring them here.
My son Kip had the best preschool education with this school. He is such a better human because it. Ms. Joly was amazing!! Thank you so much and I will recommend to everyone!

Love love love Monroe Montessori. It's next door to Windermere Monroe and right next to the Monroe Police station it feels very safe.
Down the street is the public library Perfect for getting books and dropping off books.
If you want to meet real people who are just down to earth and caring this is the place. Aaron is one of the nicest men I have met in along time. The staff is friendly and kind. I was in each classroom and they were inviting and clean. I think this is your best bet for your children's future.
My daughter was in Mrs. Moody's preschool/pre-k class for two years here. During those two years Mrs. Moody taught her to read, how to count past one-hundred, and math skills. She also worked with her to improve her writing skills. There are several activities (works) around the classroom that are educational, but fun, so the kids learn without knowing that they're learning, they think it's just something fun to do. The two years in Mrs. Moody's preschool class gave my daughter a great base to build her future education on.
The Montessori environment embraces learning in community. Rather than children being viewed as passive recipients of adult instruction, students take an active, enthusiastic role in their own development. Independent works are combined with informal group times to create a comfortable environment for learning in community. Our family particularly appreciates that Monroe Montessori school allows each child to progress at her own pace and to explore her own special interest. This creates self-confidence and sets the stage for life-long learning. Many a dinnertime in our home is spent discussing the amazing discoveries that our sons bring home from school. Monroe Montessori instructors are the best. They identify each child's learning style and provide extensive individualized guidance and support. Parents are informed of the child's weekly progress and are welcomed as an integral part of the learning team. Because the Montessori classroom is student-centered, children are self-directed, learning from the natural consequences of their actions. They are empowered to explore the wonders of the world.

Montessori has been the most amazing journey for our daughter over the past two years. We couldn't be more impressed with the quality of programming and staff at Monroe Montessori! We wanted our daughter, Cassandra, to attend preschool to prepare for public school. The preparation Cassandra received was far more than we ever expected. We hoped she would learn her letters and sounds -she learned to read. We hoped she would learn her numbers and counting - she learned estimation, geometry and place value. We hoped she would learn the names of the city and state where she lives - she learned the names of every continent and every living thing in Australia. And while we couldn't be more proud of Cassandras academic accomplishments, these are not the greatest gifts she has received from her Montessori teacher. Our daughter has learned self confidence, self discipline, and a truly intrinsic love of learning. These are the most impressive things Cassandra has learned. Cassandra often chooses to work at home. She enjoys reading and writing and learning in her free time. She has confidence in her abilities, is able to patiently learn from and teach others and is reflective about her strengths as a student and person. She works hard but never seeks extrinsic rewards. The joy is in the learning for her, and in a job well done. The teacher helped shape our daughter into an amazing young lady, ready and anxious to meet the world head-on. Her Montessori education has taught her HOW to learn and be excited about learning. Over the holiday break, Cassandra proudly announced to everyone, I am never bored! Its true - she is never bored. Thats how Monroe Montessori has influenced our daughters development and prepared her for LIFE, not just school.

My daughter is in her second year here. Last year as a full day preschooler she learned the sounds of the alphabet and by year's end was reading phonetic three letter words. This year she attends the full day pre-k/K class and began the school year reading sentence cards and simple books. Currently she is at level two in her reading and word work. Were she in public school she would not yet be expected to know her letter sounds. As a parent I value the higher expectations held by the teachers. Children are often capable of much more than we give them credit for. The students are taught and expected to use proper labels for items such as geometric shapes, scientific terms, and mathematical operations. Additionally, students are exposed to activities and concepts at this age even though they may not be ready to master them at the present time. I think this exposure will aide them when they do become ready. I am pleased my daughter is being challenged in an academically safe environment. I believe at this school she is reaching towards her full academic potential while maturing into a gentle and kind person.
We simply can't say enough about the education our daughter is receiving here. She spent the past two years in the preschool class with Mrs. Dean and Mrs. Harvill and it's been an overall incredible experience. These are the kind of teachers that any parent would wish to have for their child. Their level of commitment is outstanding and the environment they create in the classroom fosters learning, independence, and friendship. Our daughter leaves the preschool class with a love for reading and a hunger for more knowledge at every turn. We're looking forward to great things in the Kindergarten class this year.

Both my children had wonderful early education expreiences at Monroe Montessori. They learned to socialize and learn in a highly structured environment which prepared them wonderfully for joining the public school for Kindergarten. The teachers were kind and involved with each child and created lessons to each student's individual needs.
I am so greatful this program along and this specific school is available for my children. The one on one learning and the fact that your child is encouraged to be a self starter in their learning path is such an amazing tool to have at such an early age. I HIGHLY recommend this school and the staff is fantastic.
My daughter Ashley has been a part of MMS for the last four years. We could not ask for a better place for our daughter to grow and spend such an important part of her life. Every teacher has been a wonderful educator. Her current teachers are amazing, a great blend a patience, kindness....blending just the right amount of accountability and structure to our daughters life. If you are looking for a great pre-school, early el experience you owe it to yourself to look at MMS!
Kids learn so much more and alot faster than at public schools. This school offers one on one help to kids who need it because the class sizes are small enough to allow it. There is also more than one teacher which helps students to learn and comprehend material faster.
Our daughter has done very well at Monroe Montessori. The teachers are excellent and the ratio of students to teachers is great.
So happy to be a part of this community!
Both of my kids have had a wonderful experience at this school. great prep for the school years ahead and they have learned valuable social skills as well. good teacher to student ratios.
Five years ago we made the decision to enroll our first child at Monroe Montessori. At that time, our knowledge of Dr. Montessori's philosophies and practices were limited, however; we have since learned of the incredible benefits of both the Montessori classroom and attending the Monroe Montessori School. Each child is treated as an individual and is encouraged to work at their own pace, free from many of the restrictions found in a public school setting. The children become comfortable within the classroom and begin to challenge themselves both academically and socially. Each year we watch our children and their classmates bloom into eager learners, always wanting to know more. The education system in this country is struggling with overcrowding, insufficient resources, and unsafe environments. Parents everywhere are looking for answers and want more choices. Well, our family firmly believes the Monroe Montessori School has given us both a choice and a voice. We have observed our children and their classmates learn, grow, and develop a self-confidence that will be carried throughout their lifetime. We wish all school systems could provide such an education.
This is the second year our son has attended Monroe Montessori. We've also attended the summer camps. The staff is top notch. I know my son is loved and respected while receiving the best education possible.

Our family has been a part of Monroe Montessori for five years. Our child has enjoyed every year here and has always been encouraged to strive for his best both academically and socially. As parents, it is most comforting to know that your children are in a safe, nurturing, and enriching school environment. Monroe Montessori has exceeded these standards for our family.
We have been at Monroe Montessori for five years. It has been such an amazing journey watching our child develop and learn at his own pace. The staff is first rate and we highly recommend this affordably priced alternative to public.
Monroe Montessori has been an amazing and enriching early learning experience for both our daughters. We believe that our older daughter's Montessori education is the reason she is now in honors courses. Mrs. Moody is a warm, wonderful teacher who focuses on the unique needs of each child. I highly recommend Monroe Montessori.
We've had wonderful experiences at Monroe Montessori! The staff are very welcoming, helpful, and informative. Our children have been in Mrs. Moody's class and the toddler class. Both classes offer warm, nurturing, educational environments! We love this school!

We believe in this environment it is more likely Lindsey will learn about self-discipline, problem-solving, and respect for herself and others. We also believe the thinking atmosphere the Montessori environment provides has helped her to become a critical thinker and instilled in her an even greater love of learning. Also by being in a class of first, second and third graders, we believe Lindsey will be able to progress at her own pace. We feel lucky Lindsey can attend Monroe Montessori!
Monroe Montessori is providing a nurturing and motivating learning environment for our son. His class is small, his teacher devoted and caring, taking the time to learn about him as an individual and helping guide him to reach his personal best goals. The staff and owners are fabulous, too, and we feel as parents that we have support.
